When is stone crab season?

October 15 through May 1; Florida closes it on May 2. Our traps go in about ten days early, and this year Karri expects claws in house on October 16.

How much should I buy per person?

About a pound a person for a main course, which is the Florida Department of Agriculture’s guide. That’s roughly five large claws or three jumbos. The calculator on our claws page does the math for your group.

Are the claws already cooked?

Yes. We cook them right off the boat and put them on ice, so they’re ready to crack and eat cold.

What’s a floater?

A claw from a crab that just molted. The meat hasn’t grown into the new shell yet, so there’s less of it, and it’s priced lower.

Can I reserve claws ahead of time?

Yes. Text 352-232-5777 with your name, your order and your pickup day, and we’ll text back to confirm. Calls are welcome too.

Do you take holiday pre-orders?

Yes, starting in December, the same way: text your name, your order and your pickup day.

When do the Cedar Key clams come in?

Cedar Key clams and oysters come in on Fridays.

Do you take EBT?

Yes, we accept SNAP/EBT.

Is there a restroom?

Not a public one, sorry. We’re on septic out here in the village.
