Karri swims as a mermaid at Weeki Wachee Springs. Customers still call her Mermaid Karri, and she still signs off that way.

  4. The captain

    Captain Matt takes the wheel

Matt Richardson, an eighth-generation Floridian, takes over running the boat. He and his crew still run it, on the #1 Provider.

  5. By the bridge

The market moves to the water

Our market opens at the water’s edge on Sunset Vista Drive, just before the bridge to Norfleet Bait & Tackle.

    Helene

Hurricane Helene pushes about six feet of surge through the market. We lose the refrigerators, the coolers and the ice machine, reorder the next day, and open for the season.

“You got to just keep on moving forward.”

  7. Today

    Captain and mermaid

Karri runs the market and Matt runs the boat, with the next generation growing up on the Gulf. Karri goes live on Facebook from the market, so you can see what’s in the case before you drive out.
